Configuring License Server and installing Client Access Licenses

In order to permit the client devices (Pocket PC's or client PC's) to use Terminal Services, you Have to activate the license server, and install the client access licenses (CAL's).

After installation, Windows 2000 Server will grant you temporary Terminal Services CAL licenses, but these are only active for 90 days. After these 90 days, the licenses expire, it will be impossible to access there Terminal Server after this period unless you install regular CAL's. Please note that Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP professional contain a Terminal Services CAL. So PC's that use Terminal Services and are installed with either of the Operating systems, you do not need a CAL. For Pocket POS devices, you do need a CAL.
