The installation procedure for Windows 2000 server in relation to Terminal Services is slightly different to a normal installation.
This document assumes that you know how to setup Windows 2000 server, Active Directory and the DNS service. If not, please do not attempt to install this operating system.
During the Windows 2000 setup process, you will
be asked to select the components that need to be installed. Ensure that
you select the options:
- Terminal Services.
- Terminal Services Licensing.

Later in the setup process you will be asked how
Terminal Services should be installed. Ensure that you select Application
Server Mode. Failing to do so, may require to re-install your server
later.

When requested for the type of permissions to
use with Terminal Services, ensure that you select Permissions
Compatible with Windows 2000 Users.
