Early
2004, Planet wInner was contacted by Microsoft regarding the Microsoft
Certified Partner program. At first this seemed a difficult assignment
as the requirements are not simple and easy. However, the quality of
our products, and the development strategy that we adhere to, have
enabled us to pass the test without problems. Planet wInner is now
Microsoft Certified Partner, and wInner is a Microsoft
'Certified' product!
The Microsoft Certified Partner
program can be joined by businesses that develop Windows based
applications and can meet a certain number of criteria.
In order to become a Microsoft Certified partner, a series of criteria
has to be met of which the most important are:
- Software compatibility. The wInner
software products had to be send to Microsoft for testing purposes. These
tests are carried our by Veritest, and are subject to very strict
rules and regulations. The tests include installation and proper
uninstallation of the software without damaging the operating
system, operating system compliancy, stress tests, stability tests
of the products, integrity tests etc. We are happy to say that wInner
passed all of these tests successfully and wInner
is now officially an approved product for the Microsoft Windows
Operating systems.
- Planet wInner
also has to prove on a continuous basis that our software products
are implemented with success and that they function properly. This
is done via a procedure where Planet wInner has to reference
customers to Microsoft (after approval by the customer) which in
it's turn will contact the customer and validate that the products
are installed and function properly.
The fact that we have been approved as
certified partner is important for you as a customer, since it is a
guarantee that you have implemented a product of high quality that
answers to the high standards of todays IT technology, and that
properly function on Windows platforms.
As Certified Partner, Planet wInner
can make use of certain Microsoft resources and services. This allows
us to ensure that our products are being engineered based on the
newest technologies that will become available in the future. It
allows us to make the correct strategic decisions when we design the
evolution of existing products, or create new ones.
It also allows us to validate and
test our products on each Windows Platform available on the market.
For example, in September 2004 Windows Service Pack 2 will be released
by Microsoft. This service pack has an important impact on platforms
as it contains new security features that block certain virus
mechanisms from spreading over networks. These security measures
may also have an impact on software that runs on networks, such as
wInner. For this reason, wInner has already been tested on this
Service Pack in May of this year. A guarantee for you that Planet
wInner continues to work in a pro-active manner ensuring that our
products are 'future proof'.
